Music Ministry

Welcome to East Jena Baptist Church, where Jesus Christ is exalted and worshipped through teaching, preaching, serving, and singing.

Here at East Jena, we believe that great joy comes from praising the Lord and great humility comes from true, undefiled worship of the King of kings and Lord of lords.

We strive to present music services that are exciting and inspirational because we believe that we have something to get excited about. While we have a full band of musicians including keyboards, organ, piano, guitars and drums to help us worship, we also believe that God has established clear guidelines about the order of worship, and we believe worshiping God according to His principals is the only way to truly worship Him.

One of our goals is to provide music that everyone can enjoy and worship the Lord with. This is why we feature different styles of gospel music in our services. In one service we may sing the traditional hymns of the faith, and in another we may sings praise and worship choruses. All are designed to give every believer the opportunity to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.

Our main goal in the music ministry, however, is to prepare the hearts and minds of those attending our services to hear and be receptive to the preaching of God’s Word. Nothing can ever take the place of the preaching of God’s Word, and here at East Jena it is our highest priority.

We have many opportunities for people God has given talents to sing or play an instrument. Along with our Adult Choir, Youth Praise Team and Children’s Choir, we also feature special music at every service, and offertories feature musicians who want to play for the glory of God. From beginner piano students, to seasoned trumpet players, we believe that all talents should be used to praise the Lord. We strive to encourage everyone to use whatever talents the Lord has given him/her for His Glory.
